What 6,071 permits say home jobs cost here
Roofs, AC, windows and pools in Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens, one year of permits.
We pulled every residential re-roof, AC change-out, window, door and shutter permit, and every new pool permit, from the public permit records of Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens for November 2025 through October 2026. That's 6,071 jobs. Every one lists the value the contractor declared.

How to read these
- “Typical” is the median: half the jobs were declared above it, half below.
- Contractors usually declare less than the full contract price, so use these as a guide for comparing quotes, not as a quote.
- One permit can be one window or a whole house, so compare your quote to homes like yours.
What we counted
- Roofs: Residential re-roof permits. Jupiter: permit type "Residential Re-roof". Palm Beach Gardens: "Roof (Residential)" (to May 2026) and "Residential: Roof" (from May 2026). Skylight-only jobs and voided/cancelled permits removed.
- AC: Residential A/C change-out permits. Jupiter: "A/C Changeout" (Air Conditioning type, change-out work class. It can include some condo units). Palm Beach Gardens: "A/C Change Out" and "Residential: A/C Change Out". New A/C installs and voided permits not included.
- Windows and shutters: Residential windows, doors and shutters permits. Jupiter: "Residential Windows, Doors, Garage Doors" and "Residential Shutter". Palm Beach Gardens: "Opening Protection (Residential)", "Residential: Windows & Doors" and "Residential: Shutters". Garage-door-only permits removed (read from the work description), and voided permits removed. Includes non-impact door swaps. Almost all descriptions say impact.
- Removed: voided and cancelled permits, skylight-only roof jobs and garage-door-only permits.
What's missing
Tequesta and unincorporated Palm Beach County keep their permits in systems that need a public records request to export. We've drafted it and will add them. No homeowner names or addresses were kept.
